How to Play Merriam-Webster Tagline
Merriam-Webster Tagline gives you seven letters and three clues. Each clue describes a phrase spelled only with those seven letters, and a letter can be used as many times as the phrase needs. For example, on November 3, 2026 the letters were A G I K N P R and one answer was PARKING PAIN.
Play at Merriam-Webster Tagline. The game chooses the puzzle by your device's local date, so near midnight it may show a different day than this site.
The three levels
Each puzzle has Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3, and each level has its own clue and answer. You can solve them in any order.
Starting letters
Answers usually start with a few letters already filled in. On this site that appears as a pattern such as _A_____ ____: underscores are hidden letters, and spaces separate the words. The word lengths are listed under each clue.
