Tagline Tips: Solve the Three Clued Phrases
Start by scanning all three clues. Often the easiest level uses a short two-word phrase.
Letter-first thinking
Letters can repeat, so look for common endings you can build from the seven letters, such as -ING, -ER, or -TION. The word lengths under each clue tell you how many words to look for.
Worked example: November 3, 2026
The letters were A G I K N P R. The Level 1 clue was "Seeing a perfect spot, then noticing the hydrant", with the starting pattern _A_____ ____ (word lengths 7, 4).
- The letters include I, N, and G, so the seven-letter first word may end in -ING:
_A__ING. - "Perfect spot" suggests a place to leave a car. P, R, and K are available, which gives PARKING.
- The second word is four letters for the letdown of spotting the hydrant. From the same letters, PAIN fits.
The answer was PARKING PAIN. See the full November 3 puzzle.
When you are stuck
On today's puzzle, check the word lengths first, then use Reveal a letter one letter at a time. A single extra letter often makes the phrase obvious. Open Reveal full answer only when that is not enough.
